Adelaide

The rail network in Adelaide, South Australia, consists of six lines and 89 stations, totalling 125.9 km. It is operated by Adelaide Metro, and is part of the citywide Adelaide Metro public transport system. All lines around Adelaide were originally broad gauge 1,600 mm (5 ft 3 in).

Axle bearing colour codes

The axle bearing colour codes system ensure that bearings can be identified as due for greasing, and if necessary in service as overdue for greasing. Whenever an axle box is greased the gas plug and end face shall be painted the colour allocated for that year.

Melbourne Metro rail tunnel

Melbourne Metro is a proposed double track rail tunnel to run from South Kensington in the west to South Yarra in the east, passing through five underground stations on the way through the centre of Melbourne. Getting any real detail out of Public Transport Victoria is like pulling teeth: these diagrams and artists impressions have been collated from various public sources, with annotations added by myself. Given planning is still underway, who knows how accurate my information is!
